Google Docs
Learn about how we use the Google docs app in our classes.
Google Docs is a collaborative document editing tool that we utilize to take notes together with our participants/students during each class. This allows for real-time collaboration and ensures that everyone can contribute to the note-taking process.
During the class, we actively listen and take note of any mistakes that are made by the students. These mistakes can be related to grammar, vocabulary, or pronunciation.
One of the key benefits of using Google Docs for note-taking is that it allows students to choose how they want to be corrected. Some students prefer immediate correction, while others prefer to review the feedback at the end of the class or through private messages. By giving students the option to choose their preferred correction method, we create a personalized learning experience that caters to their individual needs.
In addition to noting down mistakes, we also document new vocabulary that comes up during the class. This helps students expand their vocabulary and provides a reference for future study. After each class the notes that were taken on the Google doc are added to the student’s digital notebook on Evernote. By storing the notes from Google Docs on Evernote, we create an easy to access record that can be reviewed and addressed later on.
By using Google Docs for collaborative note-taking, we create an inclusive and interactive learning environment inside the class (whether it be online or in-person). Students have the opportunity to actively participate in the note-taking process and can choose their preferred correction method. The documentation of vocabulary and grammar points further supports students in their language development and provides a valuable resource for future reference.
