With great joy, we are here with the third post in our blog, and we are absolutely thrilled to share some truly great news with all of you.
As mentioned in our previous post, we are excited to announce that we have secured a brand new space to hold our conversation groups and workshops. This special place is located at the top of the Morro do Cantagalo favela, in the renowned AfroReggae Cultural Space (located inside the Brizolão building).
The Brizolão is considered the center of projects, sheltering offices of the social company Viva Rio, Cidade Integrada from the Rio de Janeiro state government, the Youth Reference Center, the CIEP João Goulart school, and several other social projects, such as Harmonicanto, among others.
One of the key advantages of this space is the easy access from the streets of Ipanema. The building is located in the heart of Ipanema, at 12 Alberto de Campos street, and has two elevators that allow people to enter right inside the building in a matter of minutes.
Last month, we were approached by the new Coordinator who is responsible for the recently renovated space. He mentioned that he was looking for new activities to host there, and, considering Katelyn's experience as a volunteer and co-coordinator during his time as Coordinator at the Youth Reference Center, we decided to take advantage of this opportunity.
We sent a professional proposal addressing our activities, and we received positive feedback. Since then, we have been working with AfroReggae in the creation of graphic materials and a landing page, helping organize the resources necessary to publicize its activities. We were extremely satisfied in knowing that they approved the end results. This partnership represents a huge achievement for all of us, and we are so excited to share what we are planning!
To facilitate communication between and organization of interested parties, we created a WhatsApp group. The landing page, https://afroreggae.gr-site.com, which you can access by scanning the QR code on the ad we made, allows people to access the link to the group directly by providing their name and email. We then created a list of all interested parties. When they join the group, participants have the opportunity to choose between the selection of activities that are available and receive all of the necessary information to be able to participate in them.

Initially, the space will feature samba classes plus conversation groups and workshops of English. These events will be relaxed and full of interactions, serving as a dynamic introduction to the full course that will begin in February.
The complete course will last approximately four months and will provide a unique opportunity to get in touch with practical, high-level English. Participants will be able to apply this knowledge in their careers and personal benefit, contributing to community growth and significantly improving their language skills.
We are excited about the journey we are about to begin and we hope you all will join us on this exciting adventure of learning and growth. The AfroReggae Cultural Space in Morro do Cantagalo will be the place where dreams are built and new opportunities will open up for all participants.
