English Classes Launch at CIEP João Goulart Public School

We're happy to announce the launch of English classes at CIEP João Goulart Public School, nestled within the Brizolão complex in Rio de Janeiro. Despite being rated as Rio's lowest-performing school in 2011, it has since shown some improvement, with an IDEB score of 4.5 out of 10.

IDEB, short for Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica (Primary Education Development Index), stands as Brazil's primary quality index for basic education. It amalgamates school flow and assessment performance into a comprehensive indicator, utilizing data from the School Census and Saeb assessments. This initiative aims to set educational quality benchmarks and guide public policies, with the ultimate goal of achieving an average score of 6 to align with global standards.

In line with our commitment to supporting educational growth, we've embarked on the challenge of providing additional English classes to the public school students. The sessions kicked off last Thursday, with enthusiastic participation from 5th and 6th graders aged between 10 and 12. We've curated a captivating story and engaging activities to introduce the project, sparking their entrepreneurial spirit and igniting their passion for learning.
